Guest Lecture on “India-Sri Lanka Cultural Relations and Higher Education Opportunities”

The Faculty of Law, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) had the privilege of hosting a guest lecture delivered by Prof. Ankuran Dutta on 20. 02. 2025 on International Relations for the students of Intake 41

Prof. Dutta, currently on lien from Gauhati University, Assam, India, serves as the Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Colombo, Sri Lanka, holding the diplomatic rank of First Secretary under the Indian Foreign Service (PLCA). He is also engaged with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Government of India.

His lecture, titled “The India-Sri Lanka Cultural Relations and Higher Education Opportunities,” provided students with an invaluable platform to explore academic and cultural exchanges between India and Sri Lanka. The session highlighted various higher education opportunities available for Sri Lankan students in India, including scholarships, student exchange programmes, and avenues for academic collaborations.

This event served as an eye-opening opportunity for students to gain insights into global education prospects, encouraging them to expand their academic and professional horizons beyond national borders.
