General Sir John Kotelawala Memorial Mooting Competition
General Sir John Kotelawala Memorial Mooting Competition is hosted and organized by the Moot Court and Debating Society of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University. In the interests of bringing something novel, constructive and appealing to the mooting arena, the Competition reintroduces the specialty of domestic Criminal Law and Forensics, with an aim to expand and build upon law students’ knowledge and understanding of the domestic criminal legal framework while allowing them to tackle fictional scenarios and cases derived from familiar circumstances. Over the course of the competition, participants will be given the opportunity to meet, interact with and be recognized by multiple prominent jurists and the foremost academics in the field, guaranteeing a singular opportunity for mooters to mark their entry into the domestic legal arena and highlight their advocacy and research skills before the most eminent legal minds in the country.
