A Team comprising of Mr. Ashan De Alwis, Ms. Devmini Bandara and Ms. Gailee Ukwatte at Faculty of Law, KDU represented Sri Lanka, at the 22nd Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot held in Hong Kong, which was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Hong Kong Red Cross.
After intense competitions among the National Champions of 22 Asia-Pacific countries; the KDU team was selected to the Quarter-Finals of the Competition, ensuring that Sri Lanka ranked among the top 8 teams of the Asia-Pacific region.*
The Competition was conducted before Humanitarian Law advocates from across the region on the topic of Criminal Responsibility for War Crimes, and was held in locations such as the Hong Kong Red Cross, Fanling District Court and University of Hong Kong.
While congratulating the team for their dedication and accomplishment, KDU also appreciates the efforts of the ICRC, the Sri Lankan Red Cross and the Hong Kong Red Cross for the hospitality and opportunities provided during this competition.
