Webinar on Developing Skills, Competencies and Professional Attitudes of LLB Students

A Webinar on developing skills, competencies and professional attitudes of LLB Students was conducted by the Career Guidance Unit, Faculty of Law, General Sir John Kotelawala University (KDU) on the 1st of October from 1600hrs to 1700hrs. The distinguished panelist was Dr. Dantha Rodrigo PC, Former Principal of Sri Lanka Law College. With his extensive experience spanning over three decades, Dr. Rodrigo focused on the aims of legal education and the preparation of undergraduates for employment after graduation. He spoke of optimizing soft skills, integrity and work ethics whilst emphasizing the virtues of the legal profession.  He examined in detail the Code of Conduct, Rules and Etiquette, and also elaborated the multiple opportunities available to law undergraduates in both private and public sectors, and in the international arena. A very interactive question and answer session followed, where students sought clarifications on their future employment prospects and areas that required further development. The session was coordinated and organized by Ms. Ishara Munasinghe, Adviser of the Career Guidance Unit, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law and moderated by Ms. Indira Ratwatte, Lecturer, Faculty of Law.
