‘What’s New’ is an initiative taken by the Presidential Secretariat aimed at fostering a constructive national dialogue surrounding reforms introduced to the Sri Lanka’s legal landscape recently. The official launching ceremony of ‘What’s New’ was held on 03.03.2024 at which His Excellency the President unveiled the web portal of the competition.
Undergraduates of the Faculty of Law of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) were among the invites to this ceremony, attended by over 500 young lawyers, graduates, and undergraduates of Law.
This competition aims to evaluate and appreciate the novel ideas of young legal professionals, providing a platform for discussion on future reforms pertaining to Sri Lanka’s legal framework. Three teams representing KDU, consisting of law undergraduates from Intakes 38 and 39 of the Faculty of Law, will participate in the competition.
