The Official Ceremony to handover books and research materials, that were the life-long collection of Dr Christopher Pinto, by the Moragoda Trust to the Faculty of Law, KDU was held at the Senate Room on 22.07.2014.
Mr Milinda Moragoda, the son of the Founder of the Moragoda Trust Dr Christopher Pinto and a group of high profile representatives from the Moragoda Trust, including Mr Bernard Goonatilleke, Mr Nandana Dewage, Mr MDD Peiris and Mr Gamini Godakanda graced the event.
The Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence and Administration), Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) , Deans of the Faculties and Directors of various sections of the University together with the Academia of the Faculty of Law were present to witness the occasion.
Dean, FoL warmly welcomed the members of the Moragoda Trust and stressed the importance of such contributions for educating and nurturing the future generation.
On behalf of the Moragoda Trust Mr MDD Peris who was the Secretary to the former Prime Minister Mrs Sirimavo Bandaranaike, delivered a speech emphasizing national and international contribution of Dr Pinto. He also addressed the recent trends in the Indian Foreign Policy towards Sri Lanka.
